SUPPORTS DMA when used with SANDISK SDCFB-xxx-201-xx cards!
Our IDE Compact Flash Adapter
PCB is designed to provide an interface
between the Compact Flash 50 pin Bus and the IDE
interface standard. It does not require drivers, and is bootable under all
operating systems. It looks like a small hard drive to the computer.
We worked with Sandisk to be the first IDE to compact flash adapter to support
DMA. Type I & II CF cards are supported. We are also the only
manufacture that controls the power to the CF card via presence detection.
A mounting plate is provided for mounting the adapter in a floppy drive
bay.
The adapter module connects to the host PC in the same
way that a hard drive is connected, using an IDE cable and power cable.
Connection to the Compact FLASH(CF) card is made via a type 1/II 50 pin Compact
FLASH card socket. It has jumper options to be either a Master or
Slave, or the only IDE device on the IDE channel. Only 5V is
used/required from the 5-1/4" disk drive power connector, allowing it to be
used in single supply voltage installations.
It is referred to as a Compact FLASH
to IDE Adapter, IDE Compact flash adapter, Compact FLASH adapter, solid state drive,
FLASH Drive, Compact Flash IDE, as well as IDE to Compact FLASH Adapter. Works with
DOS, Windows 95, 98, XP, 2000, Linux, Unix, allowing the operating system to boot and run from a Compact FLASH card. Uses include firewalls, Siparators, industrial
computers, and any other device that requires rugged solid state storage.
Using
the Compact Flash IDE adapter, with a Compact Flash card as a solid state
bootable(boot flash) disk drive, provides a highly reliable bootable program and data storage device. Compact Flash can provide a robust, low current, low operating temperature, and
highly reliable storage solution for your embedded PC or application. Using Compact Flash with the Compact Flash to IDE Adapter is a better solution
than a flash drive(flashdrive), since the media is removable, and the price of compact flash cards per megabyte is much cheaper because of the consumer driven price point.
If your application/platform works with an
IDE drive, then it will work with a Compact Flash card
and our IDE Compact Flash Adapter. Once the adapter is connected, and a Compact
FLASH(CF) card is inserted, the Compact FLASH card will appear as a hard drive
on your PC. Indicator LED's for card power and
card activity are provided on the front edge of the adapter. Mounting holes
are provided to allow mounting in a 3-1/2" hard drive mounting
bay. It can be mounted to the front of
the bay for easy user accesss card removal, or the back of the drive bay for a
secure non-removable environment.
Our IDE Compact
Flash Adapter can be installed in a 3-1/2" floppy bay for user access using
the included mounting plate. Indicator LED's for card power and card
activity are provided on the front of the adapter. The Compact
Flash IDE Adapter can be mounted to the front of the bay for easy user
accesss card removal, or the back of the drive bay for a secure non-removable
environment.
The
ACS IDE to CF Adapter does not support 3.3volt only Compact Flash Cards, and according to
the CF card manufactures, should not be hot swapped!
Other models of the Compact
Flash IDE Adapter are available:
SATA Compact Flash Adapter.
44 pin IDE SFF(Small Form Factor).
Female Rt. Angle Compact Flash IDE.
