Specifications
Our Female Rt.Angle(-FRA) IDE to Compact Flash
Adapter
is designed to plug
directly into an IDE connector on a motherboard and provide an interface to the Compact
Flash 50 pin Bus. It does not require drivers, and is bootable
under all operating systems. It looks like a small hard drive to the computer. We
worked with Sandisk to be the first IDE to compact flash adapter to
support DMA. Type I & II CF cards are supported. We are also
the only manufacture that controls the power to the CF card via presence
detection. .
The Female Rt.Angle IDE to Compact Flash
Adapter plugs into the host PC 40 pin shrouded IDE cable header,
the same way that a IDE hard drive cable is plugged in. Connection to the
Compact FLASH(CF) card is made via a type 1/II 50 pin Compact FLASH card
socket. Since the Female Rt.Angle IDE to Compact Flash Adapter plugs
directly into the 40 pin IDE cable header, there are no jumpers for selecting
master/slave. Only 5V is used/required from the 3-1/2" disk drive power
connector, allowing it to be used in single supply voltage installations.
The Female Rt.Angle IDE
to Compact Flash Adapter provides an IDE to Compact Flash Interface that can be used on virtually any PC with an IDE controller. Using the
female Rt.Angle IDE to Compact Flash adapter, with a Compact Flash card as a solid state bootable disk drive, provides a highly reliable
bootable program and data storage device. Compact Flash can provide a robust, low current, low operating temperature, and highly reliable storage solution for your embedded PC or application.
If your application/platform works with an IDE
drive, then it will work with a Compact Flash card and our Female
Rt.Angle IDE to Compact Flash Adapter. Once the adapter is inserted into the IDE connector of
the host PC, and a Compact FLASH(CF) card is inserted, the Compact FLASH
card will appear as a hard drive on your PC. Indicator LED's for
card power and card activity are provided on the front edge of the
adapter. A Single grounded mounting hole is provided for securing the adapter to
the PC motherboard.
The ACS Female
Rt.Angle IDE to Compact Flash Adapter does not support 3.3volt only
Compact
Flash Cards, and according to the CF card manufactures, should not
be hot swapped!
Other models of the Compact Flash IDE Adapter are available:
40 pin IDE.
44 pin IDE SFF(Small Form Factor).
